Exploration of a transdermal screening tool in the emergency department setting

The clinical team at University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) presented insights from a pilot study done back in 2021 work, that compared RCE’s wearable sensor with blood based measurements in patients recruited from the Emergency Department, at the Association for Clinical and Translational Science (ACTS) conference.

This work, now published in the journal of clinical and translational science, shows moderate correlation between RCE’s sensor technology and blood based measurements. While further iterations to the wearable technology and subsequent validation of the is envisioned, the insights from this study provide an early look at the potential of a risk assessment and screening tool in the Emergency Department.
